In recent years, garden furniture has shifted from a seasonal afterthought to a year-round design investment. As gardens, terraces and roof spaces continue to function as extensions of the home, the things we look for in outdoor furniture have changed. Comfort, durability and visual appeal are now just as important outside as they are indoors, with garden furniture collections expected to last season after season and elevate the spaces they sit within.
Looking ahead to 2026s Spring and Summer months, the garden furniture collections attracting the most attention share a common sensibility. They all use quality, hard wearing materials, have strong design appeal and are adaptable, suiting both urban and rural settings.
Get inspired for the warmer weather as the following collections are the ones we have our eyes on this year.
Few outdoor furniture collections have achieved the recognition of HAY Palissade. Designed by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec, it has become a modern reference point metal garden furniture, valued for its simple but striking architectural form.
The collection is popular because it is so versatile. Whether placed in a private courtyard, a large garden or a commercial terrace, the linear steel design has impact but does not compete with its surrounding. The repeating slatted structure creates a sense of rhythm while allowing light and air to pass through, softening the weight of the material.
The durable steel frame is powder coated in a variety of colours that suit well in any outdoor space. In previous years, Olive Green has been the colour to choose, but after featuring a few times on Grand Designs last year, we predict Iron Red to be the Palissade colour of 2026.
In garden styling terms, the HAY Palissade pieces work particularly well when combined together, creating an impact. Think a large Palissade dining set placed on a patio, or a Palissade garden lounge set on decking in a spot that catches the sun. In smaller spaces, such as balcony furniture layouts, the open structure keeps things visually light, helping the space to feel open and uncluttered.

Case Furniture’s Tanso collection takes a quieter, more reflective approach to outdoor living. Designed by David Irwin, the collection was inspired by the simplicity in Japanese furniture traditions. Bridging the gap between indoor and outdoor living, the Tanso collection works just as well outdoors as it does in a conservatory or covered terrace.
Tanso balances the warmth of teak – a wood that is extremely durable in outdoor conditions - with structural precision. Avoiding an overly styled aesthetic, the collection instead relies on quality materials and small details to establish its presence. This makes it particularly appealing in minimalistic gardens or slightly more traditional outdoor spaces.
Wooden garden furniture is always popular, but we think the Tanso collection will be one to watch in 2026. This is because of its timeless nature and calming presence. As well as a dining set, the collection also includes softly cushioned outdoor seating. Those looking for a garden furniture sofa will find the Tanso 2 or 3 seater meets most, if not all, outdoor requirements.

Where Tanso is understated, Case Furniture’s Eos collection introduces a more expressive note. Eos is Matthew Hilton’s contemporary and lightweight design. It won a Design Guild Mark Award in 2016 and the fact it is still relevant and popular 10 years on shows us it's a garden furniture collection that is here to stay.
Its popularity is closely tied to changing expectations around outdoor living. As gardens increasingly function as social and restorative spaces, the Eos collection responds with its hard-wearing and low maintenance aluminium design.
Stylistically, Eos works well in spaces where adaptability is key. The pieces are light weight, both visually and materially. This makes it the perfect collection for households that enjoy entertaining friends and family. Chairs are stackable and furniture can easily be moved around the garden to accommodate needs.
This collection allows homeowners to build a garden furniture arrangement that fits their space, from compact terraces to expansive lawns. Eos is for those who want their patio furniture to feel fresh and contemporary, whilst lasting season after season.
Tom Dixon’s Groove collection brings boldness to the outdoor category. It has a slightly playful sensibility, characterised by fluted surfaces and a robust aluminium construction. Groove offers a confident presence that feels decorative as well as functional.
Launched in 2025, Groove is Tom Dixon’s first garden furniture range and was inspired by the design of his 2021 Hydro Chair. The distinct shape is reminiscent of art deco motifs, made modern in powder coated moss and putty colours that make it feel unmistakably graphic. This collection is particularly effective in urban gardens and roof terraces where visual impact matters.
Groove offers a contrast against the linear designs popular in garden furniture design. This blends pleasingly with organic forms in the garden. Set against planting or textured surfaces, the fluted detailing catches light and shadow, adding character and interest.
Cane-line offer alternatives to metal or wood outdoor furniture with their innovative weather-proof woven designs. Many of their designs have the appearance of traditional rattan garden furniture but use their own material, Cane-line weave for increased durability to the elements.
Their best-selling Nest collection is crafted from natural rattan. Although slightly harder to care for, rattan is durable and has the benefit of being eco-friendly. Nest pieces have an expertly crafted cocoon-like shape offering a sense of retreat. The Nest Garden Sofa brings a modern take to the traditional look of rattan furniture with its open structure and generous seating.
The Nest collection also includes lounge chairs. Combine pieces to create an ideal space for relaxed entertaining or quiet moments. The curved forms and woven construction tap into the ongoing popularity of rattan garden furniture, while maintaining a distinctly modern profile.

These garden furniture collections share a theme: they each have their own presence rather than being trend driven. Whether expressed through graphic steel, quiet timber, sculptural aluminium or woven forms, each collection offers a distinct response to how outdoor spaces are used today.
We see these collections being popular for Spring and Summer 2026 because each brand understands that outdoor furniture must work across different settings, adapting to various household needs. For those investing in garden furniture, these are the collections guaranteed to look good for years to come.

A former professional drummer, Ian still carries an impeccable sense of rhythm - though these days, it’s more often found in spreadsheets than on stage. He lives in a charming townhouse in Shrewsbury with two cats, a record collection to be proud of, and a garden he swears he'll tackle next weekend.
