The inspiration of the limited edition chair finds its roots in a rare Finn Juhl watercolor, unearthed only recently. Each anniversary chair will be accompanied by a meticulously hand-dated and numbered edition of this exquisite artwork.

Furthermore, the Chieftain Chair in smoked oak will be accompanied by an exclusive book titled "Lost Danish Treasure," authored by the esteemed American architect and writer, Carl J. D'Silva. This insightful publication delves deep into the rich history, evolution, and profound impact of the Chieftain Chair on Danish design, offering a comprehensive exploration for enthusiasts and collectors alike.

Uncompromising Quality

Hans Henrik Sørensen, Co-founder of House of Finn Juhl, reflects on the anniversary:
"The Chieftain Chair stands as the pinnacle of Finn Juhl's legacy as a furniture designer. It engages both the senses and emotions, serving as an investment not only for a lifetime but also for generations to come. We take immense pride in preserving Finn Juhl's cultural heritage through this exquisite deep olive-brown edition. Even after 75 years, the chair continues to captivate and inspire. It epitomizes unwavering quality, a global perspective, and a daring departure from the norms of its time."

Maintaining authenticity is paramount when House of Finn Juhl unveils a limited edition of this iconic chair. Crafted in-house in Denmark by skilled artisans, each chair undergoes a meticulous process. The rich hue of the wood is achieved through traditional techniques applied to FSC-certified oak, eschewing artificial dyes. Instead, a chemical reaction with the wood's tannic acid naturally imbues it with a deep, enduring colour. Following this, the chair receives multiple oil treatments, culminating in a luxuriously smooth matte finish.

Iconic Designs

Noctambule Collection

by Konstantin Grcic

Designed by German industrial designer Konstantin Grcic in collaboration with Flos, the Noctambule Collection is truly one of a kind. Taking its name from the French word for “night owl”, its unique design takes centerstage when lit, while appearing almost invisible in daylight. Featuring hand-blown glass cylinders that intersect with one another via LED rings, the modular design of the Noctambule collection allows the user to add and subtract different elements, providing endless creative possibilities for both floor and pendant lighting.

Coordinates Collection

by Michael Anastassiades

Originally designed for the Four Seasons restaurant in New York, the Coordinates Collection by Michael Anastassiades is a sophisticated meeting of light and sculpture. Offering both simple and complex configurations, the designs are composed of horizontal and vertical luminaires constructed from anodised, champagne-coloured aluminium with an integrated platinum optical silicone LED for a luminous glow. Simple, clean and contemporary, the Coordinates Collection offers striking yet delicate lighting for today’s interiors.

IC Collection
