At Holloways of Ludlow, we believe great design is at its best when seen in real homes. Our “Inside the Home of” series explores how creators and tastemakers use our furniture, lighting and homeware to shape their own spaces. Each feature inspires by showing how people can live with, style, and enjoy iconic pieces every day.

Tucked away in a peaceful corner of her beautifully styled home, Kayleigh of @little_mill_home_ has created a spare bedroom that feels both serene and classic. Soft, welcoming and thoughtfully detailed, the space perfectly captures her signature style: calming tones, layered textures and an unfussy warmth that makes every room feel instantly restful.

For this redesign, Kayleigh turned her attention to transforming a previously simple guest room into a space where visitors can unwind the moment they walk through the door. At the centre of her vision was a desire to blend classic detailing with gentle, contemporary comfort. This is a balance that she achieves effortlessly throughout her home.

A pair of Old School Electric Elongated Prismatic Wall Lights offer a traditional touch, ensuring guests can enjoy soft and diffused lighting whilst they wind down. Mounted above the bed on either side, they give the room a refined symmetry and bring a charm to the soft, modern palette.

A Soft and Considered Palette

The spare bedroom is anchored in a palette of calming whites, gentle creams and soft greys tones. Kayleigh has used these throughout her home to create cohesion and ease. Tongue-and-groove panelling adds subtle architectural interest and provides an elegant backdrop for the bed, while crisp white bedding and generously layered pillows contribute to the room’s soft and inviting feel.

Touches of natural texture add interest and personality. Perfectly chosen accessories such as a woven blanket, a wicker basket tucked beneath the bed, a vase of soft, dusky pink peonies punctuate the space without overwhelming it. Kayleigh’s attention to understated detail ensures the room feels calm but never cold.

Lighting That Makes the Space

Lighting plays a central role in the room’s sense of serenity, and the Old School Electric Elongated Prismatic Wall Lights help to shape the atmosphere. Their fluted prismatic glass shades gently refract light, casting a warm glow that feels especially inviting in the evening. The swan-neck arm, finished in a rich dark bronze, nods to traditional and vintage styles, whilst sitting comfortably within Kayleigh’s modern-country aesthetic.

Positioned on either side of the bed, the lights create a natural balance and beautifully frame the ornate metal headboard beneath. Their soft illumination enhances the textural details in the bedding and panelling, transforming the room into a peaceful retreat, perfect for reading, relaxing or winding down after a long day.

A Room Made for Slow Moments

The spare bedroom at @little_mill_home is a space layered with softness, warmth and thoughtful finishing touches. The addition of the Old School Electric Elongated Prismatic Wall Lights adds a touch of quiet luxury, creating a calm aesthetic that offers both function and beauty in equal measure.

Whether illuminated at dusk or glowing gently beside a stack of fresh pillows, the lights contribute a timelessness that perfectly complements Kayleigh’s vision for her home: inviting, restful and beautifully personal.
