Mika Tolvanen
A renowned Finnish designer, Mika Tolvanen started his own studio after graduating from the Royal College of Art in 2001. With the belief that what defines objects is how we use them, Tolvanen looks not at products but at occasions that need products when he designs.
Working from his studio and workshop on the island of Lauttasaari outside of Helsinki, Tolvanen creates products for residential and contract use, and is a frequent collaborator with design manufacturer, Muuto.
