Ernesto Gismondi
An Italian designer, inventor and visionary, Ernesto Gismondi (1931-2020) founded the world-renowned lighting brand Artemide in 1959. One of the leading figures in the international design scene, he created many classic lamp designs, and contributed countless years of experience and expertise to the field.
Under his leadership, Artemide developed an enviable catalogue of designs through collaborations with world-famous architects and designers such as Vico Magistretti, Michele De Lucchi, Achille Castiglioni, Carlotta de Bevilacqua, Gio Ponti and Ettore Sottsass, just to name a few.
