The avant-garde CH07 Shell chair, designed by Hans J. Wegner in 1963, has a distinctive expression that was ahead of its time. Re-released by Carl Hansen & Søn in 1998, the chair had won broad public admiration and is considered one of Wegner’s most iconic, innovative designs. The wing-like seat and curved backrest lend the design its appealing lightness, while the Shell chair’s signature seat and backrest upholstered in form-pressed veneer have been designed to cradle users in glorious comfort. The chair rests on three laminated legs made from layered veneer, with the two at the front made from a single element providing the piece with a unique, stable form.
