Friso Kramer

A driving force behind the development of the Dutch modernist aesthetic from the 1940s onwards, designer Friso Kramer was given the English title, Royal Designer for Industry for his work. Strictly following a 'form follows function' approach, he designed for the general public - always paying attention to the quality of the appearance, construction, materials and ergonomics of his designs. His most famous pieces were his Revolt and Result chairs. Some of the first chairs to be industrially manufactured, they are still bestsellers to this day and can be found in classrooms, offices, and apartments around the world.
